RI President's Message

Dear Huda

It is my sincere pleasure to congratulate you on your installation to the office of 2009–10 district governor.

You have pursued this great endeavor, because like me, you believe in the future of Rotary. You realize that it is essential for each of us as Rotarians, to do what is necessary to keep Rotary thriving. You recognize that the strength of your district is vital to the future of Rotary continuing to operate in thirty three thousand communities in nearly every corner of the globe. You understand that The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands.

We are all part of an organization with the capacity to do great deeds, the sense to do them wisely, and the strength of character to do them well. Building on these high standards, I encourage you to continue focusing on water, health and hunger, and literacy as the key areas of emphasis this year. That is why I am asking you to call on your core values of leadership and service as you work within your own district, in cooperation with other clubs and districts, and with the support of the Foundation to build a stronger future for Rotary.

As you work to make the clubs in your district stronger, remember it is the club that is the most important part of our organization. Help the clubs in your district bring forth new ideas and fresh enthusiasm. Place confidence in your clubs not only as they recall past accomplishments, but also as they look
toward the future of Rotary. Impress upon them that our future will be shaped in each and every Rotary club, for there is work to be done in every community. Our future is in their hands.

Sincerely,

John Kenny
President, 2009–10
