Rotary District 3280 Bangladesh

Shamsul Huda an MA in Economics was born in the district of Pirojpur. He had his early education from Govt.B.L College. Daulatpur, Khulna. He did diploma in journalism from Germany. During student life he was  Cadet Adjutant of UOTC.

Rotary Service :

Rtn. Huda joined Rotary Club of Dhaka Midtown in January 1980. In 1982 Rotary Club of  Dhaka Midtown sponsored Rotary Club of Metropolitan Dhaka and Rtn Huda was elected its Charter President. Under his leadership the charter of the club was handed over to him by the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Justice Ahsanuddin Chowdhury in a Colourful ceremony. Rtn Huda initiated “SEED AWARD”, a highly coveted annual award in the field of Science, Education and Economic Development in Bangladesh. It was formally announced by the late District Governor Azizul Haq at the Charter Presentation Ceremony of the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Dhaka.

Rtn. Shamsul Huda is the Chairman of the first District Conference Committee of the newly formed RI District 328, Bangladesh held on January 1985.

Rtn. Huda served Rotary in various capacities like Joint District Secretary, Member, Balloting Arrangement Committee for DGN 1988-89, Additional District Secretary, Governor’s Aide, Governor Specials Aide, Centennial Conference Secretary and Deputy
District Governor. He also organized Rotary Club of Rajdhani Sonargaon and became its Charter President in 2001-2002.Rtn Huda was elected District Governor Nominee 2009-10 on 30th May.2007.

Rtn Huda attended the GETS in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia with his spouse in 2007 and Taipei in 2008.  He also attended the International Assembly in San-Diego, California,USA with his spouse in January,2009.

Rtn Huda was declared OUTSTANDING DISTRICT GOVERNOR ELECT of 4 zones of Asia by the Rotary International President DK Lee at the Graduation  Dinner  of GETS in Taipei.

Professional Career:

Rtn. Huda served Pakistan Air Force in GD(P) branch and left Air Force during Liberation War.

Then he joined the Spokesman as a Sub Editor. In 1973 he started publishing the New Economic Times and he was publisher & Editor for over 20 years. He also compiled and edited Who’s Who in Bangladesh, Trade & Industrial Guide of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Directory.

"Ocean Traders" an Enterprise owned by him was the Business Associate of Singer Bangladesh Ltd. about two decades. At present Rtn. Shamsul Huda is the Managing Director of SH Castle & Resort . Rtn. Huda is a member of Red Crescent Society, Diabetic Association, Rajshahi Cancer Hospital and Research Centre and cadet Collage Association of Bangladesh.

He is a member of Canberra City Bowing Club, Gungahlin Lakes Clubs, Canberra Southern Coast Club, Canberra, Australia.

A widely traveled man Rtn. Huda is happily married to Shefali and they are blessed with two sons, Imran and Adnan. Imran a graduate from Commonwealth Technical University, Virginia, USA and Adnan A graduate from University of Canberra, Canberra, Australia.
