Hearty greetings and good wishes for a happy new year 2010! January, the first month of the calander year is Rotary Awareness Month for us. Message of the DG, December 2009

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

We observe December every year as family month - a month during which we ought to pay close look at our families, 1.2 million Rotarians in more than 33000 R.C's, and all the members and families of those organizations around the world and our own families. We are products of our respective families. Our family values largely influence us in our attitude, activities, and commitments as Rotarians. Individually we are anchored to our families and so our membership in Rotary club has consequencial implications for them. A happy and harmonious blending of relations is what we must seek for as members of the family and as Rotarians.

Message of the DG, November 2009

Dear fellow Rotarians,

November of each year reminds us of the pivotal role that TRF plays in the scheme of things in Rotary and the need and inspiration of our involvement as contributors to the Foundation or as participants in its programmes. Rotarians from all over the world contribute to the Foundation and thereby support programmes through it in their laudable efforts "for the purpose of doing good in the world in charitable, educational and other avenues of community service". I have a delightful experience in noting this trend in the Rotarians of Bangladesh during my just concluded official visits to the clubs. Contributions flowed natually and spontaneously from them, and I am confidently looking forward to more generous giving by the Rotarians of the country by the year-end enabling their District Governor to reach the target or even surpass it. I once again appeal to you to fulfill your commitments and contribute early.

Message of the DG, October 2009

My dear Fellow Rotarians,

We observe October as Vocational Service Month to highlight the significance of vocations and professions and the importance Rotary attaches to them in our efforts to achieve the goals as expressed in our Objects. A good Rotarian is a good man- a man of intrigity and of high moral values in his every day dealings and conducts, especially in business and profession. Hence the relevance of Four Way Test and its extended version in Declaration for Rotarians in Business and Profession adopted by COL in 1989. We are to take a fresh vow this month to dignify our vocation with high ethical values in extending service to society. We represent our vocations in Rotary and Rotary in society.

Message of the DG, September, 2009

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

It is with great admiration that the world has been watching the flag of Rotary flying high in countries across the seas since 1929 Convention in Dallas, Texas, USA. It symbolizes friendship, humanitarian service, professional ethics and international harmony and peace which Rotary stands for, for long 104 years and of a kind and character unique in the history of mankind. The standard has been handed down to us by generations of excellent and capable planners and achievers and it is now our sanctified duty to raise it higher and pass it on to our successors - the New Generations.

Message of the DG, August, 2009

Dear Fellow Rotarian,

We are in the 2nd month of the RY. By now I have paid official visit to 60 Rotary clubs of the country and have the good fortune of getting first hand knowledge of myriads of plans and programs taken up. Many of them are being implemented with exquisite deftness and altruistic mission. This is what Rotary is synonymous with. This is what brightens its image and acceptability. Please adopt useful, practicable and result oriented service projects, espcially in the thrust area i.e., water health and sanitatio, literacy and reach the target within the timeframe set. You realize the lofty motto, Service Above Self and feel the celestial happiness. In fact, "Real Happiness is Helping Others" I trust, at the end of the year together we achieve success to have "Real Happiness".

Message of DG, July 2009

Dear fallow Rotarians,

I convey my greetings to you all for the new Rotary year that has began. But by now one twelfth of the year has already gone. You are naturally busy planning for the year's projected activities and, of course, with the preparation for holding installation ceremonies. In the meantime I have completed my official visit to 23 Clubs in Dhaka city. It is gladdening that the clubs have hugely responded to my calls for an eventful year of dreams realised in 2009-10. The quality and level of participation in the year's preparatory events like DTTS at Sylhet, PETS at Bogra, Membership Development Seminar and District Assembly, both in Dhaka, heightens hopes and expectations for yet another successful year of service, fellowship, diversity, integrity and leadership that constitute the core value of Rotary.

GOVERNOR'S MESSAGE

My Dear Fellow Rotarians,

February is a memorable month for the Bengali Nation. By sacrificing blood on 21st February 1952 we had to establish BANGLA as our state language and since then 21st February is being celebrated as a national day with due solemnity.

Rotary having been founded on 23 February 1905 by Paul P. Harris, the month of February finds special significance in Rotary calendar for promoting world understanding and peace. Since inception the Rotarians all over the world dedicated and rededicated themselves for the cause of Peace and Harmony and encrowned Rotary with glory. Unless we sincerely appreciate the spirit of internationality of Rotary and its foundation it is difficult to achieve our objective for peace and world understanding, Hence, I continue my appeal to you to contribute generously to the Rotary Foundation, our foundation to translate our moto service above self in reality.
