Dear Fellow Rotarian,
We are in the 2nd month of the RY. By now I have paid official visit to 60 Rotary clubs of the country and have the good fortune of getting first hand knowledge of myriads of plans and programs taken up. Many of them are being implemented with exquisite deftness and altruistic mission. This is what Rotary is synonymous with. This is what brightens its image and acceptability. Please adopt useful, practicable and result oriented service projects, espcially in the thrust area i.e., water health and sanitatio, literacy and reach the target within the timeframe set. You realize the lofty motto, Service Above Self and feel the celestial happiness. In fact, "Real Happiness is Helping Others" I trust, at the end of the year together we achieve success to have "Real Happiness".
The issues of membership growth along with retention of old members in the clubs has always been considered a matter of high priority and vital significance. We all have been making sustained efforts to expand Rotary though continued growth of membership. I am happy to notice that the membership in the district is showing perceptible growth trend.
TRF is unique entity - the engine of Rotary - with the purpose of "doing good to the world." Rotarians of the district are enthusiastically coming forward to strengthen TRF through genrous contribution. It gladdens me to tell you that they have made commendable contributions by now. We all expect that the trend continues and a substantial contributions to the TRF will be mae by the Rotarians of the district. I appeal to you to play your part in the endeavour. Let us materialise the vision of EREY-Every Rotarian Every Year to meet US$ 200 million challenge, let us help eradicate the curse of polio from the face of the earth forever. Rotarian, please respond to the call.
After a month of arduous exerdise of self purification during the holy Ramdan the Muslims are going to celebrate Eid soon. I Pray that the teachings of Ramadan and real life achievements by fasting go the make our life elevated and meaningful. I wish all the Muslim Rotarians a very happy, joyous and festive Eid. Our Hindu brother Rotarians will observe the festival of Bijoya Dashomi. I wish them happiness and extend my sincere greetings ont he occasion.
