My dear fellow Rotarians,
Hearty greetings and good wishes for a happy new year 2010! January, the first month of the calander year is Rotary Awareness Month for us. It induces and inspires us to become more conscious of our being Rotarians and as Rotarians our mission and responsibilities to offer service to others, enhance high ethical standards and promote understanding and peace through fellowship.
By now we have crossed the half way mark of a Rotary year of fellowship and service. I understand you are busy implementing programmes and reaching targets yu set for yourselves. However, I am not receving activity reports from many clubs regularly, while some clubs are very particular in sending their monthly reports with lots of information, photos and other relevant supporting documents. For my record and publication in the GML I request you to send reports every month without fail, and in time. Please note that you need to submit entries for the District Awards 2009-10 by 25th May 2010. Please go through the guidelines for the purpose as contained in the District Directory. Let "Achieve and be Appreciated" be our motto.
I have been emphasing in the earlier issues of GML's on the different priorities and goals of RI Strategic Plan 2009-2010. I came to know during the club visits that you had focused your attention to and planned your service activities based on the RI Strategic Plan and special reference to Polio Eradication and Membership growth initiatives - the two of serve priorities.
I draw your attention to the RI President's guidelines on RI Presidential citation 2009-2010, printed at page A-14 of the District Directory and to act accordingly. The certification form has to be submitted to the District Governor by 31, March 2010. I earnestly seek your support and cooperation.
You already know that RI President Nominee 2011-12 will pay a visit to the RID 3280 and meet the Rotarians at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel on 16th March 2010 at 7.00 pm. Preparations are afoot to make it a grand joyous occasion for felicitations and festivities. Registration form has already been dispatched to you. I hope you will take this opportunity to meet our future world leader in Dhaka with love, reverence and warmth of heart.
May you gain more strength to serve humanity through Rotary.
